TECNIDEX FRUIT PROTECTION takes a leap into South America and opens a subsidiary in Peru
TECNIDEX, with 37 years’ experience in the protection of postharvest fruit, has disembarked in this strategic country for the agro-food sector in the Southern Cone. The subsidiary’s headquarters is in Lima.
The company TECNIDEX, FRUIT PROTECTION takes yet another step in its Internationalization Plan and disembarks in Latin America opening a new subsidiary in Peru, TECNIDEX PER FRUIT, which will enable it to operate directly in the country and extend its services and solutions to its customers.
This company, specializing in postharvest fruit and vegetable protection, is thus boosting its position in a strategic market in the Southern Cone, in an area which is gaining strength daily in the agro-food sector.
TECNIDEX, which has a high degree of know-how and experience in this market, has chosen this Andean country as its first South American subsidiary because of its unrivalled farming conditions. Such an extraordinary climate for farming and the huge irrigation infrastructure implemented in the last few years, provide the country with enormous farming potential as shown by the continuous growth of its export figures. Besides, thanks to the investment promotion policies, Peru has achieved great socio-economic stability in the last two decades.
“We have chosen Peru because of the strong rise and expansion in the horticultural sector. Besides citrus fruit production, the climatic diversity of this country enables sub-tropical fruits to be grown, such as mangoes, avocados, species with specific needs in which we have a lot of expertise. Because of this, it is a strategic market for TECNIDEX”, the chairman of the company, Manuel García-Portillo points out.
TECNIDEX PER FRUIT has set up its headquarters in San Isidro (Lima) and strengthened its local workforce which has already achieved feats such as obtaining three new phytosanitary solution registrations and approvals for fruit protection in Peru. With this new subsidiary, TECNIDEX reinforces its presence in overseas markets. The company has subsidiaries in Morocco, Turkey, South Africa, Italy and Greece, and exports to more than 25 countries.
TECNIDEX specializes in the treatment of citrus, stone and seed fruits and kiwi fruit, and is a leader in technologies for the elimination of astringency in persimmon. Besides new more efficient and safe formulations in its two major product lines Textar® (phytopharmaceuticals and disinfectants) and Teycer® (waxes and detergents), it has products exclusively developed together with international partners of recognized standing such as Syngenta or Adama.
Likewise, TECNIDEX has its CONTROL-TEC® line, unique technologies that guarantee the best application of its phytopharmaceutical products, the reuse of waste water and atmosphere control in cold stores, with maximum food and environmental safety. The company complements its catalogue with Vía-Verde®, a technical team that helps its clients anywhere in the world, advising them about the various aspects of its postharvest activity and postharvest storage.
