TECNIDEX takes part in the Third International Soft Fruits Congress
The Spanish postharvest company sponsors this event, which will take place on 21 and 22 June in Huelva, and will bring together world leaders and experts in the sector.
Valencia, 7 June 2017. The soft fruits sector will meet again in Huelva, on 21 and 22 June, for the Third International Soft Fruits Congress, a key event not to be missed by TECNIDEX, FRUIT PROTECTION, a highly specialized company in the postharvest protection of fruit and vegetables, as its wide catalogue of products, technologies and services witnesses.
TECNIDEX is one of the sponsors of this event, which seeks to share the current situation of a growing sector as well as the future challenges it faces. A framework in which world leaders and experts in the sector will tackle the new situation of a sector which has opened up its business opportunities after the inclusion of the raspberry, the blackberry and the bilberry, which join the traditional strawberry.
Soft fruits, due to their natural characteristics, are very susceptible to suffering from dehydration both during conservation and in transit. TECNIDEX, aware of this, has begun to introduce its automatic ultrasonic humidification technology into the sector: CONTROL-TEC® CAM H. This system enables a relative humidity of 95-100% to be reached without wetting the fruit thanks to the small dimension of the droplets (a dimension of less than 4 micra), which allows soft fruits to be conserved in optimum conditions, avoiding weight loss through dehydration and prolonging their life.
Likewise, to protect soft fruits, the company has a range called PURE AIR, comprising Textar® Pure Air (new formulations for reducing ethylene) and CONTROL-TEC® CAM PURE AIR (a new technology for purifying the non-residual atmosphere).
Textar® Pure Air eliminates ethylene using an absorption technique, thus prolonging the life of the fruit in its conservation and logistic processes, enabling it to reach the consumer in perfect condition. They are products developed under maximum food safety conditions, which leave no residue on fruit and they are highly recommended for fruits that have to undergo long journeys or that are sensitive to ethylene.
In technologies, CONTROL-TEC® CAM PURE AIR, is a new air purification system for cold stores incorporating two techniques, sterilization and absorption. This makes pathogenic spores present in the cold store air non-viable and therefore reduces the level of rotting that these can cause. At the same time it reduces ethylene levels, providing conservation of fruit in a more hygienic and disinfected atmosphere, with no residue of any kind on the fruit. This system has a range of equipment that can be adapted to cold stores depending on size.
TECNIDEX’s headquarters are in Spain, but it has an important international presence, with 100%-owned companies in Morocco, Turkey, South Africa, Italy, Greece and Peru. Since its inception the company has been committed to CSR which leads it to collaborate year after year on various social, cultural and sporting projects.
